The exam is designed to familiarize us with you, your teeth, and your mouth. It establishes a baseline for future comparisons, aiding in accurate diagnoses. To enhance this process, we request any past X-rays. If you have them, kindly request a copy to be sent and forward it to Cheryl@tarantoladentistry.com before your appointment. (If you have X-rays and wish to use them, we must receive them prior to your appointment, or we may need to reschedule.) Please ensure the X-rays are sent in JPG format only. The fee for the New Patient Exam is $295.00, which is all-inclusive. It covers any necessary X-rays and the interpretation of any X-rays you may provide, including Dr. T's data analysis post-appointment. Additionally, you will receive a follow-up emailed dental report and treatment plan. If you have X-rays for us to interpret, we must receive them before your appointment. It takes considerable time to transfer these images to our charting system and organize them for use. If we receive them at the time of your appointment, we will not be able to proceed with the appointment on that day. Please note the following: - The appointment does not include a dental cleaning. If needed, a separate visit can be scheduled for a routine cleaning. The fee for a routine cleaning, if done every six months, is $150.00. If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, the cost may be up to $199.00, as determined by our hygienist. - The exam allows Dr. T to make better recommendations for prevention and treatment. Dr. T will analyze the information post-appointment to design a comprehensive plan for the harmony of your teeth, health, and smile. During the exam, we will: 1. Perform an oral cancer check, including an examination of your jaw, neck, tongue, and mouth (recommended annually). 2. Conduct a tooth and gum exam. 3. Check the TMJ (jaw joint) and jaw muscles. 4. Take digital photographs to record the condition of your teeth and gums. 5. Capture digital radiographs, taking only what is necessary for a proper diagnosis. While we are not insurance providers, we will handle all necessary paperwork, x-rays, and documentation to assist you with direct reimbursement. We will mail you the claim for you to submit to your insurance company, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope for our convenience.
